Here it is! Done! well the piecing is

Here is the latest...Drum roll please.  This took 2 1/2 weeks to piece. Not every day, but most days. I'm using only scraps that I have collected for years. One piece came from my sister-in-laws quilt I made 18 years ago. This is the third quilt to come from these scraps. Not the last by a long shot. This process is not time effecient, but a necessary step.
My guilds' retreat is this weekend. Always a fun time. I have packed lots of things. I am always told to bring lots. because I guess I get a bit testy when I run out of projects. I am ready to see like minded people and talk and laugh. I hope to finish all that I take.
I remembered to charge all that needs charged. That is amazing in itself.
That's all for now, I need to pack the machine after I oit it good.
Have a good day!

What was I thinking!

I am still working on the blocks for the Christmas Pickle quilt. I started with the 480 half square triangle blocks. Although the cutting took longer because they were cut from scrap fabrics, the piecing went quickly. However, the New York Beauty part of the design is taking longer. I don't have a clear plan for color placement, so the whole process is taking longer than usual for me. I finished 10 of the blocks yesterday and the thought was running through my mind, what was I thinking, and then I laid them on the floor. Oh, my! This will be a quilt that will have to be pried out of my cold dead hand. I'm not sure why the designs that are more challenging are the ones that speak to me, but they do. My plan for today is to trudge forward and see how much I can accomplish.
My guild's retreat is in a week. That is always fun. I'll need to be packed up and ready to go by Wednesday. I have a busy Thursday. And I don't have anything ready. This is the story of my life, always a day late and a dollar short.
Have a great day!
I can't wait to post pictures of this quilt!
